Terms of service
The operator of this service has not been named yet. Until it is, this text is a draft and no account should be opened on the strength of it.
These are the rules between you and the operator of Work Transcendence ("we"). By creating an account you accept them, and by using the service you keep accepting the version in force.
The service
Work Transcendence builds a graph of a person's or a company's knowledge out of conversations and documents, and compares it against listings, people, and positions, showing the evidence behind every comparison. It is a tool for finding and being found. It does not employ anyone, does not act as an employment agency, and does not guarantee that anyone will be hired, matched, or answered.
Your account
- One person, one account, under a real name and an address you can read.
- You are responsible for what is done under your credentials. Keep the password to yourself.
- You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live.
- A company account is opened by a person who is entitled to act for that company.
What you put in
What you tell the service about yourself must be true. The whole point of the platform is that a claim carries its evidence; a false claim with invented evidence is grounds for closing the account. You keep every right to what you write and upload. You grant us what is needed to run the service on it: to store it, to extract claims from it, to show the comparison to those you have chosen to be visible to, and to send it to the model provider for that extraction.
Percentages are not verdicts
A match percentage is a computation over the claims both sides have made, with the evidence shown next to it. It is offered so that a person can decide, not so that a decision is made. We do not warrant that a comparison is complete or that an extraction is correct, and every page that shows one also shows how to check it.
Tokens
- Some actions are paid for in tokens: the job hunt on your behalf, an introduction to an employer, and suggestions. The prices are shown before the action.
- A new account receives a starting balance of tokens to try the service.
- Tokens are a unit of use inside the service. They are not money, do not earn interest, and cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash, except where the law where you live requires a refund.
- Purchased tokens are refunded if a paid action failed for a reason on our side; the refund is written into your ledger with its reason.
Companies and listings
- A company may create listings and publish them on the exchange free of charge for the first thirty days after it is created. After that, publishing is paid, at the prices shown at the time.
- A published listing expires after the period shown on it and can be published again.
- A listing must describe a real position. Listings placed to harvest profiles are removed.
Mentors
- A person who signs up as a mentor undertakes to answer an inquiry within 48 hours.
- A mentor who misses that deadline is warned, and repeated misses take the mentor off the board. The rule is enforced by the service, not by us reading anyone's inquiries.
- A mentor's rate is a statement between the mentor and the person asking. Until the service handles payment between the two, it is settled between them.
What is not allowed
- Impersonating another person or company.
- Uploading documents you have no right to share.
- Scraping, or automating the service beyond what its interface offers.
- Using another person's profile for anything but the purpose it was made visible for.
Closing the account
You can delete your account at any time; what happens to your data is in the privacy policy. We can close an account that breaks these terms, and will say why. Unused purchased tokens are refunded when we close an account for a reason that is not yours.
Liability
The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for what follows from a comparison, a hire, an introduction, or an answer made through the platform, nor for loss of data you have not exported. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
Changes
When these terms change in substance, the version changes and you are asked to accept the new one when you next sign in. If you do not, you can export your data and delete the account.
